To establish a Client/Server Network the following hardware would be required...

• Server
  • In effect a powerful PC with options for multiple disks and processors. Dell now offer entry level servers for under £500
 
• Switch or Hub
  • Device that links the server to the client machines and intelligently routes traffic.
 
• Cabling
  • Cabling required to connect all computers (usually 'CAT 5'). Laid in trunking. Alternatively wireless connections can be used although not as reliable.
